Marketing Tracking & Tagging Specialist

Remote
Full Time
Experienced

VisionPoint Marketing is a rapidly growing agency, consistently ranked among the top employers in North Carolina. We partner with higher education institutions of all sizes—from small community colleges to statewide university systems—helping them achieve their marketing and enrollment goals through data-driven strategies.

We’re looking for a Tracking & Tagging Specialist to lead the setup, QA, and maintenance of digital tracking systems across our client portfolio. If you’re someone who loves a clean GTM setup, knows how to spot a broken pixel from a mile away, and wants to help shape how an agency approaches data tracking, this role is for you.

You’ll own the technical implementation of tracking systems and dashboards that help our team and our clients understand how their campaigns are performing. Most of your work will be internal, but you’ll also audit and advise on client GA4/GTM setups and occasionally meet with clients to explain findings or provide guidance.

This position offers a high level of ownership and the chance to influence how we approach tracking across dozens of client campaigns. This is a fully remote position.

What You’ll Do

Tagging, Tracking, & QA

  • Set up and manage tags, triggers, and variables in Google Tag Manager (GTM).
  • Implement and QA pixels and conversion tracking for digital media campaigns.
  • Audit and troubleshoot client GA4 and GTM environments to ensure accurate data collection.
  • Identify tracking gaps and lead the effort to close them.

Analytics & Reporting Infrastructure

  • Maintain client-facing dashboards in TapClicks and ensure all connectors and data sources are working properly.
  • Help automate reporting workflows using Zapier and other tools.
  • Ensure the data we rely on is clean, consistent, and actionable.

Internal Leadership & Innovation

  • Shape how we think about and implement marketing tracking across the agency.
  • Bring forward new ideas and approaches for scaling tracking and reporting best practices.
  • Collaborate with Paid Media, SEO, and Web teams to ensure tracking aligns with performance goals.

Who You Are

Background & Skills

  • Hands-on experience with GTM, GA4, and web tracking in support of media campaigns.
  • Experience setting up pixels, conversion events, and custom event tracking.
  • Familiarity with TapClicks, Looker Studio, or similar dashboard platforms.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting issues with tag firing, conversions, or data mismatches.
  • Experience using tools like Zapier for simple automations.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to QA.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently—especially when explaining tech to non-tech folks.

You’re Likely to Stand Out If You Have

  • Experience with Salesforce, Slate, or Element451.
  • Familiarity with campaign attribution models or multi-touch attribution.
  • Awareness of GDPR, CCPA, and the evolving privacy landscape.
  • Agency or higher ed marketing experience.

A Quick Note

Don’t quite meet all of our requirements? Apply anyways. It’s been proven that minorities are less likely to apply to a job if they don’t match the posted requirements to a T. We at VisionPoint value diversity and want to continue creating a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment. If this role and the prospect of serving the higher education sector excites you, but you are missing a few bullet points, we would still love to see your application. Even if this role isn’t the right fit, there’s a chance another role or a future opportunity could align with your experience.

Our Stack

GTM, GA4, TapClicks, Zapier, Slate, Looker Studio, Salesforce, and the occasional CMS or ad tech platform.

Why This Role Might Be a Great Fit

  • You want ownership over your work and a say in how things are done.
  • You’re looking to be the go-to expert on tracking—someone others turn to for clarity and confidence.
  • You care about making data meaningful, not just collecting it.
  • You like solving real problems, collaborating with smart people, and building systems that work.

Why VisionPoint

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
